Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains what information csinsf.org collects (very little), how we use it (conservatively), and what choices you have. We built this site to share teaching resources, not to harvest data. That principle guides every decision below.
Information We Collect
Server Logs
When you visit any page, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically records basic request data: your IP address, the page URL, your browser's user-agent string, and a timestamp. This happens at the infrastructure level and is standard for any website served over the internet. We do not combine server logs with any other data source.
Cookies
csinsf.org does not set first-party cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking. Cloudflare may set a short-lived cookie for security purposes (such as bot detection). We have no control over that cookie beyond choosing Cloudflare as our host.
Contact Information
If you email us through the address on our contact page, we will have your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use that information only to respond to you and do not add it to any mailing list.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not run third-party analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels).
- We do not serve ads or use ad networks.
- We do not sell, rent, or share visitor information with anyone.
- We do not use fingerprinting, local storage tracking, or cross-site identifiers.
Third-Party Services
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers how they handle the infrastructure-level data that passes through their network. We encourage you to review it if you want the full picture. All fonts and assets are self-hosted, so no requests are made to external font services or CDNs when you load a page.
Children's Privacy
This is an education resource site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The site does not include account creation, login forms, or interactive features that request personal data from students.
Data Retention
Server logs are retained according to Cloudflare's standard retention policies. We do not maintain a separate database of visitor information. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to address the conversation and then periodically deleted.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the change on our changelog. We will not reduce your privacy protections without making that clear here first.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, reach out through our contact page. We will do our best to answer plainly.
